Admissions Policy

As a humanitarian effort, the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project provides program services at no cost.

Individuals who participated in the 9/11 rescue and recovery effort are the first priority for detoxification. This includes firefighters, police, paramedics and other EMS workers, sanitation workers, construction workers, volunteers, etc.

As space is available, the project also offers services at no cost to individuals who lived and worked in the area near the World Trade Center.

In some cases, individuals of means have contacted the project desiring detoxification, but not wanting to take a place from a rescue worker. These individuals have paid for service. Such cases are accepted as space is available.

All admissions are on a case-by-case basis. Services are available in Manhattan and on Long Island.
