In July 2004, project physicians and advisors reviewed the folders of 286 individuals (240 men and 46 women) who had completed detoxification.

These patients included 187 firefighters, 13 paramedics, 8 police officers and 78 citizens (volunteer rescue workers, those who live or work downtown).

This review found that neurological, muscle and lung symptoms had resolved fully in three out of four cases and greatly improved in virtually every case.
